A few weeks ago, I was in the slow-op (that’s what I call the co-op and trust me if you have ever been in one you will know exactly what I’m talking about), and I nearly jumped for joy.
Did I see a celeb? Win on a scratch card.
No. I found dairy free chocolate buttons.
For the last two years, I’ve been struggling with IBS. My main trigger is dairy. It can go from just having a little bit of pain, to being violently sick for over 24 hours. When I first realized it made me this ill, I didn’t have any dramas. “Don’t really eat dairy anyway” I thought.
Except I do. Just because I don’t eat chocolate often or drink milk, it still doesn’t help me avoid dairy. It is in EVERYTHING. If you shop in the free from isle, it’s easy to create and buy food that doesn’t involve dairy. But it’s still a struggle.
And this is just eating three meals a day, you know, to live. Having nice things, like treats is near on impossible. When you find something, you tend to stock up, because supermarket free from isles are hit and miss at the best of times, and it is very rare you will find the same stuff week in week out.
Subscription boxes? Forget about it. All of the main ones, like Graze, contain products with dairy in.
So what it if, you could get a box delivered to your door every month, with not only dairy free healthy food, but also dairy free treats for you to enjoy during your Saturday night Pretty Little Liars binge?
Ladies and gentleman, I give you 2017’s venture….
